7MS #251: Blackholing Malvertising with Pi-Hole

So a few weeks ago I discovered that my Ubiquiti ERX was not, contrary to how I thought I had it setup, functioning as a local DNS server on my network. I started a forum post about this issue and, while I was waiting, decided to give Pi-hole a spin as it claimed to:

1. Install with a single command

2. Block lots of ads and other potentially unwanted/nasty content

Turns out it is super easy to spin up but I did find one sort of major "gotcha" in that the default install totally broke Spotify on my iPhone. More on that in today's video (audio-only version is further down...keep scrolling):
